— OVERVIEW
In Roman footsteps
Cross England from coast to coast, in the footsteps of Roman soldiers. You start at Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast and follow the line of Hadrian's Wall, built more than 1,900 years ago at the edge of the Roman Empire. You'll walk through the wild hills of Northumberland, past forts and milecastles, and on to Newcastle.
It's 80 miles in three days, packed with history, big views and the satisfaction of walking the whole thing. Many Hadrian's Wall challenges cover only a 25–35-mile section. This one takes you all the way.
